Ethos

The ethos of our new school will be Christian but affirming of all pupils and families, who will be welcomed, cherished and respected at Wessex CofE Primary Academy.

WLT believes that every child is unique and deserving of the very best educational provision. We believe in children and young people and will work to find what they need to succeed, remove barriers and give them every opportunity. The ethos of our new school will be Christian but affirming of all pupils, those who have a faith and those who do not. Hard work, honesty, responsibility, teamwork, respect, cooperation, and self-discipline will be hallmarks of the distinctive ethos and climate of our new school and will be integral to the curriculum on offer.

All staff will be expected to support the school’s distinctive ethos and mirror the schools values for learning so that they are exemplary role models for pupils.

Wessex CofE Primary Academy is being set up to help meet the needs of a growing population and will also increase choice and diversity for parents, underpinned by Christian values of inclusion, wellbeing and a commitment to celebrating and valuing the gifts of each individual child.

The school will become part of the family of schools in the Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea area, and our Trust schools across the Cheddar Valley, and will act with generosity by sharing their skills, expertise and knowledge so that all may benefit. The School will support the principle of “life in all its fullness” (wisdom / hope / community and dignity).
