As an inclusive two-form entry Church of England school, we will contribute to meeting the needs of a growing population and in particular, the new communities of Highbridge.
Importantly, we will also increase choice and diversity for parents.
Wessex CofE Primary Academy will have an open admissions policy with no faith-based oversubscription criteria meaning it will serve all families within its community. The School will offer the best possible education experience for pupils of all faiths and no faith and of all abilities and backgrounds to achieve learning outcomes which meet and exceed expectations.
As a family-friendly school, we will closely support parents and carers by ensuring that fully planned, appropriate and supervised, alternative provision is available for those students who are opted out of faith-based activities, including collective worship.
Along with the full support of the WLT, key aspects of the new school will borrow from the successful models of leadership and curriculum delivery at our Axbridge Church of England First School Academy and Weare Academy Church of England First Schools, and Hugh Sexey CofE Middle School, all judged Outstanding by Ofsted.
